Ryzen 3 1300X vs Core i7-4800MQ benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-4800MQ beats the Ryzen 3 1300X in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-4800MQ has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-4800MQ. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i7-4800MQ outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1300X thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 1300X has more L2 cache than the Core i7-4800MQ. The Ryzen 3 1300X also has slightly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
