Ryzen 3 1300X vs Core i7-3960X benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-3960X is faster than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1300X in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-3960X has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Indeed, the Core i7-3960X has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 1300X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-3960X. Despite this, the Core i7-3960X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1300X CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-3960X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
