Ryzen 3 1300X vs Core i5-8400T benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 3 1300X performs better than the Core i5-8400T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8400T in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-8400T has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 1300X that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1300X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 1300X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-8400T. Also, the Ryzen 3 1300X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-8400T outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1300X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 1300X has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8400T. Despite this, the Core i5-8400T has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 1300X.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1300X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
