Ryzen 3 1200 vs Xeon E5-1620 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon E5-1620 performs better than the Ryzen 3 1200. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-1620 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-1620 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 1200. Also, the Xeon E5-1620 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1620 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
