Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen Threadripper 1920X comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X is faster than the Ryzen 3 1200. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1200 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 1200 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1200. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 1200. Also, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen Threadripper 1920X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 1200. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
