Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen 7 3700U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 3700U beats the Ryzen 3 1200 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1200 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Ryzen 7 3700U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 1200 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 3700U. The Ryzen 7 3700U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1200 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 3 1200 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
