Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen 5 4500 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 4500 is faster than the Ryzen 3 1200. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1200 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 4500 has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 1200 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1200. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. Also, the Ryzen 5 4500 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 4500 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
