Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen 3 3250U comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 1200 is faster than the Ryzen 3 3250U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3250U in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 3 1200 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 3250U. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 1200 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Ryzen 3 3250U. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 1200 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 3250U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3250U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 3 3250U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1200 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 1200 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 3250U. The Ryzen 3 1200 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
