Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen 3 3200U benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 3 1200 performs better than the Ryzen 3 3200U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3200U in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 3 1200 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 3200U has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 1200 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3200U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3200U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 3 3200U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1200 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 1200 has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 3200U. The Ryzen 3 1200 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
