Ryzen 3 1200 vs Ryzen 3 2300U comparison

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 1200 beats the Ryzen 3 2300U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 2300U in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 1200 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 2300U. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Ryzen 3 2300U outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1200 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 3 1200 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
