Ryzen 3 1200 vs FX-8320 comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the FX-8320 performs better than the Ryzen 3 1200. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the FX-8320 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-8320 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the FX-8320 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
