Ryzen 3 1200 vs FX-8120 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 1200 is faster than the FX-8120. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8120 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the FX-8120 has more threads. In terms of clock speed, the Ryzen 3 1200 and FX-8120 are identical in this regard. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8120 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8120 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 1200. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
