Ryzen 3 1200 vs FX-6100 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 1200 beats the FX-6100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-6100 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 3 1200 has slightly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-6100 that has 3 cores. Despite this, the FX-6100 has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1200. Our comparison shows that the FX-6100 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-6100 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 1200. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
