Ryzen 3 1200 vs Core i7-9700K specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9700K is faster than the Ryzen 3 1200. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1200 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-9700K has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 1200 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1200. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-9700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. Also, the Core i7-9700K has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-9700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-9700K also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
