Ryzen 3 1200 vs Core i7-8700K comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-8700K performs better than the Ryzen 3 1200. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1200 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-8700K has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 1200 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1200. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-8700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. Also, the Core i7-8700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-8700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 1200 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700K. Despite this, the Core i7-8700K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 1200.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
