Ryzen 3 1200 vs Core i5-4460 specs and performance

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 3 1200 performs better than the Core i5-4460. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-4460 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-4460 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 1200. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 1200 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-4460 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 1200 has more L2 cache than the Core i5-4460. The Ryzen 3 1200 also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
