Ryzen 3 1200 vs Core i5-12450H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-12450H performs better than the Ryzen 3 1200. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 1200 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-12450H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 1200. Indeed, the Core i5-12450H has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 1200. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 1200. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 1200 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12450H. Despite this, the Core i5-12450H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12450H outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 1200 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i5-12450H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 1200 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
