Radeon Vega 8 vs Radeon 660M specs and performance

For gaming, the Radeon Vega 8 graphics card is better than the Radeon 660M in our tests.

The Radeon 660M has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon Vega 8 has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

In addition, the Radeon 660M has a significantly lower TDP at 15 W when compared to the Radeon Vega 8 at 45 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon Vega 8 is better than the Radeon 660M.
