Radeon RX 7900 XTX vs GeForce RTX 4090 D specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the GeForce RTX 4090 D beats the Radeon RX 7900 XTX in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the GeForce RTX 4090 D has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4090 D also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that they both have the same amount of memory at 24 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX has a slightly lower TDP at 355 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4090 D at 425 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the GeForce RTX 4090 D over the Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
