Radeon RX 7900 XT vs GeForce RTX 5080 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XT in gaming.
In our comparison, the GeForce RTX 5080 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 5080 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 7900 XT has slightly more memory with 20 GiB of memory compared to 16 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 315 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 5080 at 360 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the GeForce RTX 5080 is better than the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
