Radeon RX 6950 XT vs Radeon RX 7900 XT comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 6950 XT in gaming.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6950 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
As stated by the manufacturer, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has slightly more memory with 20 GiB of memory compared to 16 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 315 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6950 XT at 335 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 7900 XT is better than the Radeon RX 6950 XT.
