Radeon RX 6900 XT vs Radeon RX 7700 XT benchmarks

For gaming, the Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 7700 XT in our tests.

In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6900 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. Despite this, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

As stated by the manufacturer, the Radeon RX 6900 XT has slightly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.

In addition, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 245 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6900 XT at 300 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 6900 XT is better than the Radeon RX 7700 XT.
