Radeon RX 6800 XT vs GeForce RTX 4070 comparison

For gaming, the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 6800 XT in our tests.

In our comparison, the GeForce RTX 4070 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4070 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

As stated by the manufacturer, the Radeon RX 6800 XT has slightly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.

In addition, both the Radeon RX 6800 XT and the GeForce RTX 4070 have an identical TDP. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
