Radeon RX 6800 vs Radeon RX 7700 XT specs and performance
For gaming, the Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 6800 in our tests.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6800 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 6800 has slightly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 12 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 245 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6800 at 250 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is faster than the Radeon RX 6800.
