Radeon RX 6500 XT vs Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q comparison
In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 6500 XT beats the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q in gaming performance.
The Radeon RX 6500 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6500 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
As stated by the manufacturer, the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q has significantly more memory with 6 GiB of memory compared to 4 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q has a significantly lower TDP at 60 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6500 XT at 107 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 6500 XT is better than the Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q.
