Radeon RX 580 vs Radeon VII specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon VII GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 580 in gaming.
Our database shows that the Radeon VII has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon VII also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon VII has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 580 has a significantly lower TDP at 185 W when compared to the Radeon VII at 300 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon VII is faster than the Radeon RX 580.
