Radeon RX 5700 XT vs GeForce RTX 4070 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the GeForce RTX 4070 GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT in gaming.
In our comparison, the GeForce RTX 4070 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4070 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the GeForce RTX 4070 has significantly more memory with 12 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 5700 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 225 W when compared to the GeForce RTX 4070 at 300 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce RTX 4070 is faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT.
