Radeon RX 5700 vs Radeon RX 7700 XT benchmarks
For gaming, the Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 5700 in our tests.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 7700 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 7700 XT has significantly more memory with 12 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 5700 has a slightly lower TDP at 180 W when compared to the Radeon RX 7700 XT at 245 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is faster than the Radeon RX 5700.
