Radeon RX 5600M vs Radeon RX 7900 XT specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 7900 XT beats the Radeon RX 5600M in gaming performance.

Our database shows that the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 7900 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 7900 XT has significantly more memory with 20 GiB of memory compared to 6 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.

In addition, the Radeon RX 5600M has a significantly lower TDP at 150 W when compared to the Radeon RX 7900 XT at 315 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 7900 XT is faster than the Radeon RX 5600M.
