Radeon RX 5600 XT vs Radeon Vega 8 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 5600 XT beats the Radeon Vega 8 in gaming performance.

The Radeon RX 5600 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon Vega 8 has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

In addition, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly lower TDP at 45 W when compared to the Radeon RX 5600 XT at 150 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 5600 XT is better than the Radeon Vega 8.
