Radeon RX 5500M vs Radeon RX 7700 XT benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 5500M in gaming.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 7700 XT has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 7700 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 7700 XT has significantly more memory with 12 GiB of memory compared to 4 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 5500M has a significantly lower TDP at 85 W when compared to the Radeon RX 7700 XT at 245 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is faster than the Radeon RX 5500M.
