Radeon RX 5500M vs GeForce MX550 specs and performance

For gaming, the GeForce MX550 graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 5500M in our tests.

The Radeon RX 5500M has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 5500M also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

In addition, the GeForce MX550 has a significantly lower TDP at 25 W when compared to the Radeon RX 5500M at 85 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the GeForce MX550 is faster than the Radeon RX 5500M.
