Radeon RX 5500 XT vs Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q benchmarks
For gaming, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q graphics card is better than the Radeon RX 5500 XT in our tests.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 5500 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 5500 XT also has a slightly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q has a significantly lower TDP at 80 W when compared to the Radeon RX 5500 XT at 130 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.
In conclusion, all specs and GPU benchmarks considered, will recommend the Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q over the Radeon RX 5500 XT.
