Radeon RX 550 vs Radeon RX 6650 XT specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 6650 XT beats the Radeon RX 550 in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon RX 6650 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon RX 6650 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 6650 XT has significantly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 4 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon RX 550 has a significantly lower TDP at 50 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6650 XT at 176 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 6650 XT is faster than the Radeon RX 550.
