Radeon RX 470 vs Radeon Vega 8 comparison

In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 470 beats the Radeon Vega 8 in gaming performance.

The Radeon RX 470 has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.

In addition, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly lower TDP at 45 W when compared to the Radeon RX 470 at 120 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 470 is faster than the Radeon Vega 8.
