Radeon RX 470 vs Radeon HD 8470 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Radeon RX 470 beats the Radeon HD 8470 in gaming performance.
Our database shows that the Radeon RX 470 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture.
As stated by the manufacturer, the Radeon RX 470 has significantly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 1 GiB. Lots of memory is good when playing at high resolutions or with many monitors.
In addition, the Radeon HD 8470 has a significantly lower TDP at 35 W when compared to the Radeon RX 470 at 120 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 470 is better than the Radeon HD 8470.
