Radeon R9 390 vs Radeon RX 6800 XT benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU is faster than the Radeon R9 390 in gaming.
The Radeon RX 6800 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 6800 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon RX 6800 XT has significantly more memory with 16 GiB of memory compared to 8 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Radeon R9 390 has a slightly lower TDP at 275 W when compared to the Radeon RX 6800 XT at 300 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 6800 XT is better than the Radeon R9 390.
