Radeon R9 380 vs Radeon Vega 8 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon R9 380 GPU is faster than the Radeon Vega 8 in gaming.
The Radeon R9 380 has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
In addition, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly lower TDP at 45 W when compared to the Radeon R9 380 at 190 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.
According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon R9 380 is faster than the Radeon Vega 8.
