Radeon R9 380 vs Quadro K4200 benchmarks
For gaming, the Radeon R9 380 graphics card is better than the Quadro K4200 in our tests.
The Radeon R9 380 has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. In addition, the Radeon R9 380 also has a slightly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.
As stated by the manufacturer, they both have the same amount of memory at 4 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Quadro K4200 has a significantly lower TDP at 105 W when compared to the Radeon R9 380 at 190 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon R9 380 is better than the Quadro K4200.
