Radeon R9 370 vs Radeon RX 5500 XT specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon RX 5500 XT GPU is faster than the Radeon R9 370 in gaming.
The Radeon RX 5500 XT has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation. In addition, the Radeon RX 5500 XT also has a significantly higher boost clock speed: the maximum frequency the chip can reach if power delivery and thermals allow.
Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon RX 5500 XT has significantly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 4 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.
In addition, the Radeon RX 5500 XT has a slightly lower TDP at 130 W when compared to the Radeon R9 370 at 150 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon RX 5500 XT is better than the Radeon R9 370.
