Radeon R7 450 vs Radeon R9 390 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Radeon R9 390 beats the Radeon R7 450 in gaming performance.
In our comparison, the Radeon R7 450 has a slightly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation.
Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon R9 390 has significantly more memory with 8 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. If you're planning at playing games at high resolutions with high-quality textures, you will need a lot of memory.
In addition, the Radeon R7 450 has a significantly lower TDP at 65 W when compared to the Radeon R9 390 at 275 W. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.
In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon R9 390 is better than the Radeon R7 450.
