Radeon R7 430 vs Radeon Vega 8 specs and performance

For gaming, the Radeon Vega 8 graphics card is better than the Radeon R7 430 in our tests.

The Radeon R7 430 has a significantly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon Vega 8 has a significantly higher boost clock speed. The boost clock speed is the frequency that the GPU core can reach if the temperature is low enough. The allows for higher performance in certain scenarios.

In addition, the Radeon Vega 8 has a slightly lower TDP at 45 W when compared to the Radeon R7 430 at 50 W. TDP (Thermal Design Power) measures total heat output from the chip.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon Vega 8 is better than the Radeon R7 430.
