Radeon R7 260X vs Radeon RX 640 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark, the Radeon R7 260X GPU is faster than the Radeon RX 640 in gaming.

In our comparison, the Radeon R7 260X has a slightly higher core clock speed. This is the frequency at which the graphics core is running at. While not necessarily an indicator of overall performance, this metric can be useful when comparing two GPUs based on the same architecture. Despite this, the Radeon RX 640 has a slightly higher boost clock speed. This is a frequency that can be reached if the GPU is cooled sufficiently and has enough power.

Next up, in terms of GPU memory, the Radeon RX 640 has significantly more memory with 4 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.

In addition, the Radeon RX 640 has a significantly lower TDP at 50 W when compared to the Radeon R7 260X at 115 W. Heat output doesn't match power consumption directly but, it's a good estimate.

In terms of raw gaming performance in our GPU benchmark, the Radeon R7 260X is better than the Radeon RX 640.
