Radeon R5 240 vs Radeon RX 550X comparison

For gaming, the Radeon RX 550X graphics card is better than the Radeon R5 240 in our tests.

Our database shows that the Radeon RX 550X has a significantly higher core clock speed. The core clock speed (or base speed) is the frequency at which the GPU core runs. This metric makes sense when comparing GPUs of a similar architecture or generation.

Furthermore, the spec sheet for both these GPUs show that the Radeon RX 550X has significantly more memory with 4 GiB of memory compared to 2 GiB. Memory size doesn't directly affect performance, but too little memory will certainly degrade gaming performance.

In addition, both the Radeon R5 240 and the Radeon RX 550X have an identical TDP. This is not a measure of performance, but rather the amount of heat generated by the chip when running at its highest speed.

According to the results of the hardwareDB benchmark utility, the Radeon RX 550X is faster than the Radeon R5 240.
