Phenom II X6 1065T vs Xeon E5-620 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Phenom II X6 1065T performs better than the Xeon E5-620. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-620 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Phenom II X6 1065T has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Xeon E5-620 that has 4 cores. Despite this, the Xeon E5-620 has more threads than the Phenom II X6 1065T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Phenom II X6 1065T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-620. The info from our database shows that the Phenom II X6 1065T has more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-620. The Phenom II X6 1065T also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Phenom II X6 1065T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
