Phenom II X6 1055T vs Xeon E5-520 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-520 is faster than the Phenom II X6 1055T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Phenom II X6 1055T in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Phenom II X6 1055T has significantly more cores than the Xeon E5-520. Indeed, the Phenom II X6 1055T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Xeon E5-520. It also has more threads than the Xeon E5-520. With our hardware info, we find that the Phenom II X6 1055T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-520. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Phenom II X6 1055T has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon E5-520. Despite this, the Xeon E5-520 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Phenom II X6 1055T.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Phenom II X6 1055T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
