Phenom II X4 B50 vs Xeon X3440 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X3440 is faster than the Phenom II X4 B50. Despite this, the Phenom II X4 B50 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon X3440 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Phenom II X4 B50 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X3440. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Phenom II X4 B50 has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon X3440. Despite this, the Xeon X3440 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Phenom II X4 B50.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Phenom II X4 B50 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
