Phenom II X4 955 vs Xeon X5482 benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Phenom II X4 955 beats the Xeon X5482 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5482 in all gaming tests too.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Phenom II X4 955 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5482. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon X5482 has significantly more L2 cache than the Phenom II X4 955

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Phenom II X4 955 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
