Phenom II X4 955 vs Xeon X3450 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X3450 is faster than the Phenom II X4 955. Despite this, the Phenom II X4 955 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon X3450 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Phenom II X4 955 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X3450. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon X3450 has significantly more L2 cache than the Phenom II X4 955

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Phenom II X4 955 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
