Pentium Silver N6000 vs Xeon E5-520 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-520 is faster than the Pentium Silver N6000. Despite this, the Pentium Silver N6000 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon E5-520 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver N6000. A Pentium Silver N6000 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-520 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Pentium Silver N6000 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
